Don't mess with New Zealand...

So some American tried to tell New Zealanders how to handle the pandemic.  He got burned to the ground.  This is a classic clash between stupidity and a smart guy who knows how to deliver a brilliant insult.

New Zealand, by the way, has one of the lowest covid 19 death rates in the world.  25 total deaths.  Sure, it's a much smaller country than the US, but compared to our 210,000 total deaths, it's pretty obvious that they are doing something right.  They don't appreciate anyone challenging their success.

"The man, who wasn’t named in a news report about the incident from TVNZ, can be heard on video doubting that the virus exists. “Where’s your evidence that there is a virus that causes the disease?” the man asked, apparently holding something he’d printed out from the internet.

The denier had already annoyed Peters by trying to ask more than his one allotted question, so the lawmaker didn’t hold back in his response to the man. “Sit down, sit down,” said the deputy prime minister. “We’ve got someone who obviously got an education in America—220,000 people have died in the U.S., there are eight million cases to date.”

Peters added: “We’ve got 79,000 cases just today, probably in India, and here is someone who gets up and says ‘the Earth is flat.’” The deputy PM then witheringly told the man: “Sorry, sunshine, wrong place."

Here's some advice for covid deniers.  Believe what you will, but be careful who you're dealing with.  It is possible to be both wrong and publicly humiliated.

Just as an aside, I'm spending way too much time in doctor's offices and hospitals.  All require masks to enter.  I've noticed that, at least at these locations, there is NO objection from anyone about the mask rule.  100% compliance.  So the deniers will wear masks to get medical treatment, which seems pretty damned hypocritical.  If you refuse to wear a mask in the grocery store, you should do the same at the doctor's office, right?  But no...for some reason.
